I fell in love with photography when I picked up my first professional camera in 2010, unsuspecting that it was just the beginning. Initially, I used the camera for fun, capturing stunning shots of cars all around the beautiful city of Chicago, my hometown. My love of cars and my new and growing love for photography opened up new opportunities including having my work published on multiple occasions.
In time, my passion for photography spurred my desire to explore beyond Chicago. Traveling to diverse and picturesque locations, I discovered a profound love for nature. This passion became even more meaningful when I met my wife, who also cherished nature and spontaneous road trips. For our honeymoon, we dreamed of the ultimate road trip adventure. After countless hours of planning and watching overlanding YouTube videos, we built an overlanding rig and embarked on an epic 6,600-mile journey. A highlight of this trip was going completely off-grid for the first time—it was an experience that deepened my appreciation for the great outdoors. While our road trip eventually came to an end, our overlanding project remains an ongoing, enjoyable endeavor as my truck becomes ever more capable.
So, what happens when a city boy with a passion for photography ventures into the wilderness? You get a dedicated photographer logging endless miles on his truck in search of awe-inspiring locations and elusive wildlife. My overlanding journey is far from complete, and I’ve still got so much to learn.
